Whether you are new in town or new to Jesus, checking out churches can be really hard. Where do I go? What do I do with my kids? What will the music be like? What is the teaching like? What will people be wearing? Will it be weird? Am I wasting a Sunday morning only to find out that this is just not the right fit for me? These are all valid questions to ask when looking for a church. Here is a brief run-down of what to expect at Christ's Church of the Valley.
Let’s be honest. When most people think of visiting church for the first time, they expect to be bored with a speaker who will obsess over stuff that makes no difference in their life and music that will sound like it’s being played by their grandma...with mittens on. We want to surprise you with a fast paced, high energy, creative worship service and practical teaching from the Bible on Sunday that makes a difference on Monday...And music that rocks!
A sports grill? In a church? Really? Yes, really. After our service we invite you to stick around and enjoy some great food in The Grill, while catching the latest game on one of our big screen TVs. You can even watch the service there as we simulcast it from our auditorium.
Do you want your kids to feel like they are in the classroom or on the playground while they are at church? What if you can have it both ways? Our kids ministry focuses on a monthly life application from the Bible, like kindness or patience, in a high energy, fun environment that will have your kids begging you to bring them back for more!
Here at CCV we are all about “Inviting you to a better life.” That’s what we do. It’s based on what Jesus said He was all about. When asked what He was on earth to do, Jesus said, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10) That’s what we call the Better Life. These are the three components.
When Jesus was asked what the most important thing a person could do was, He answered, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37) Here at CCV we believe that the better life begins by deciding to live life with God, that everything is better when we do it God’s way. If you attend CCV, we’ll show you how.
Jesus went on to say that there was a something else that was just as important as loving God, and that was to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:38) This means you can’t live the better life on your own. You need friends to go through life with. Here at CCV we want to give you opportunities through our Life Groups to make friends who will share life’s triumphs and tragedies with you, as we help each other become the people God created us to be.
How did Jesus live His life? With purpose. He knew what He was all about, and that was “…not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45) Here at CCV we believe that the better life is best experienced when we serve others and give of ourselves to those in need. We will provide you with service opportunities that anyone can get involved with, whether you are new to all this or a seasoned veteran. Come make a difference that will last forever!
